Christopher Tate Obituary, Death – Christopher Stephen Tate, 54, of Bridgeport, Alabama, passed away peacefully at his home on November 9, 2023. Born in Franklin County, Chris was a proud graduate of Franklin County High School in 1988 and furthered his education at Kemper Military Academy, graduating in 1990. Chris had a deep appreciation for the outdoors, finding joy in hunting, fishing, and golf. His connection with nature was reflected in his membership at St. Bernard’s Episcopal Church, where he sought solace and spiritual fulfillment.
In the loving memory of Chris, he is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, William “Bill” and Frances Tate, maternal grandparents, Robert Wilson Layne Jr. and Emma Meeks Layne, father Danny Lee Tate, and sister Kimberly Parman. Chris is survived by his cherished significant other, Cassandra King, and his mother, Shirley Tate. His memory lives on through his sister, Dana (Bubba) Ingleburger, and brother-in-law, Michael Parman. Chris leaves behind a legacy through his children, Chelcey (Sean) Rayome, Courtney (Austin) Caroll, Layne Tate, and Carly Tate, as well as his beloved grandchildren, Emmy and Rylie Rayome, and Eli Caroll.
His extended family includes nieces and nephews, Anna (Forrest) Duncan, Kyle (Kaitlyn) Ingleburger, Taylor Parman, and Tatum Parman, along with great-nephew Henry Duncan. Chris is also survived by his aunt, Dianna Casteel, uncle Robert Wilson Layne III, and his lifelong best friend, Casey Caldwell. A visitation to honor Chris’s life will be held from 2-3 pm on Friday, November 17, 2023, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home, followed by a memorial service at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Friends and family are invited to join in remembering and celebrating the life of Christopher Stephen Tate.
